2 teaspoons onion powder

salt and ground black pepper to taste

2 tablespoons grapeseed oil

½ red bell pepper, chopped

½ carrot, chopped

½ stalk celery, chopped

¼ cup water

½ cup French-fried onions

Directions

Place rice in a large bowl. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add red bell pepper, carrot, and celery; cook and stir until tender, about 5 minutes. Add seasoned rice and water; cook until rice is heated through, about 5 minutes. Add French-fried onions; toss to combine.

Substitute green bell pepper for the red if preferred.

I like to keep extra seasoned rice stashed in the freezer.
